Important - British Reining Championships & BR Memberships 2020/2021

It is with much regret that, due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation and logistical challenges it presents for our venues and show organisers, we will sadly not be running a British Reining Championships this year.

Running an affiliated show usually involves extensive travel for competitors, as well as bringing judges and/or other show team members from overseas. The unpredictable nature of potential quarantine requirements, travel restrictions and regional lockdowns has meant that planning an event such as the BR Championships is unfortunately not viable this year.

As a small membership led organisation, British Reining is very grateful to the many members who have joined or renewed their memberships this year, despite the lack of events. With such continued support we can be confident that our organisation can develop and remain able to run future events when the Covid-19 situation improves.

As we have been unable to offer as much as we would have liked for our members this year, the council of British Reining have decided to automatically roll on all new and existing 2020 memberships for an additional 12 months, ie through to the end of 2021.

We very much hope that those members who have not yet renewed for 2020 will do so, in order that we may start to plan an action packed programme of events for 2021.

Stay safe.

Best wishes,

British Reining Council

Francesca Sternberg awarded the British Equestrian Federation Medal of Honour

Francesca Sternberg has been awarded the British Equestrian Federation medal of honour in respect of her work with Reining.

This is one of the highest accolades you can receive in the British Equestrian area. This was awarded for her contribution to reining as a competitor a member of the FEi athletes committee and the driving force behind many committees and events.

This is the first time this award has been given to a Representative of Reining in Great Britain.

“I would never have imagined the British Equestrian Federation would recognize a reiner,” “In the UK, we’re highly traditional—everything is eventing, show jumping, and dressage. To be recognized by my peers in my own country is quite overwhelming.”
